Swing by Norwich's Otis Library at 5:30PM for a detailed and gruesome recounting of Tudor Era English history brought to life by The Tudor Rose's very own MATTHIAS BECKER!

In his roundtable discussion on Fatal Marriages During the Elizabethan Era, Matt will be discussing the life and times of Mary Queen of Scots from her birth as King James of Scotland's only surviving child, to her inheriting the throne of Scotland at 6 days old, to her betrothal to the Dauphin of France at age 6, and finally, after 18 years in confinement, her beheading by order of Queen Elizabeth I.

In The Heart of Downtown

A cozy independent used bookseller and giftshop located in the heart of downtown Norwich CT, The Tudor Rose Books opened with the aim of providing a comfortable, neighborhood atmosphere. We can be found at 54 Broadway, next door to the Norwich Arts Center, very near near La Stella Pizzeria.

Our owner, Matthias Becker has a long standing passion for reading history and historical fiction primariy focused upon England and Western Europe. Becker opened the shop with his son, Deion, in May of 2026 selling mostly used books across all genres alongside a wide variety of gift offerings ranging from writing implements and art supplies to movies, music, fresh flowers and consignemnt artwork.

The Tudor Rose Bookstore features plush armchairs serious readers and cool drinks for a truly complete and welcoming experience.
